SITE IDENTITY & APPEARANCE

Start with a working product. Change the parts that should be yours.

Site branding

Owner-editable site settings cover branding and display labels rather than requiring you to edit application code.

Protected branding uploads

Branding images are handled through the protected administration flow instead of replacing arbitrary files on the server.

Appearance preferences

Users can choose supported appearance and accent preferences, with the selected display preference remembered in the browser.

Public or private viewing

Choose whether anonymous visitors may view the site. If they can, Guest-role permissions still determine what they are allowed to do.

Account requests

Choose whether visitors can request accounts and whether email verification is required as part of that process.

Your own domain

Host the software where you choose and configure its public base URL so shared links, metadata and the sitemap use the correct address.

USERS & ROLES

Not everyone needs the keys to the whole kitchen.

The built-in roles are a sensible starting point, while permissions remain authoritative and can be adjusted for your installation.

Role names are not magic shortcuts: the permission assignments are what actually authorize a feature.

GRANULAR PERMISSIONS

Give a role the tools it needs—without giving it everything.

Permission areas span ordinary recipe use and administration. That lets a household distinguish someone who can import recipes from someone who can manage accounts or change site settings.

ADMIN VIEW

Administrative controls when you want them. Normal browsing when you don't.

Authorized users can turn Admin View on to expose management destinations such as Users, Permissions, Site Settings and Site Health. Turning the view off hides the administrative clutter; it does not change the underlying authorization.
